Do I need to wear/buy anything specific? If you don't have any ballet flats (ballet shoes), socks are absolutely fine to begin with. Some people love to wear leotards and tights - brava to them and if you'd like to rock the same attire we would love it! But we also love tracksuit pants, leggings, pyjamas or anything else that you feel comfortable to move in.
Do I need to have done ballet before? Absolutely not! Ballet was once only for small children and professionals but beginner adults across the world have claimed their right to join in this amazing exercise and artistic form. We are pleased to offer you our beginner adult ballet classes in Geelong.

How the Silver Swan program originated
The Royal Academy of Dance developed Silver Swans in response to a growing demand for ballet classes for older learners.
Sessions are based upon research into dance practice for older participants from RAD’s Dance for Lifelong Wellbeing project. This project identified psychological benefits of dance, such as perceived improvements in quality of life, as well as physiological advantages, such as improved balance.
Who teaches the classes?
Silver Swans classes are delivered exclusively by Silver Swans Licensees who have trained by the Royal Academy of Dance to safely adapt ballet techniques for older adults. At Adult Ballet Studio Geelong, our Silver Swans teacher is the lovely Trudi Schneider (C.B.T.S. RAD & RAD Registered Teacher). To read more about Trudi and our studio teachers please click here
